Over the last 6 years our team has managed a variety of corporate, non-profit and private family events. The list below is a sample of our work, and feel free to click through to our photo gallery and past clients listing to understand the depth of our experience.
Community Events by The Finer Details
Bright Nights in Stanley Park Since fall of 2008, The Finer Details worked
with Bright Nights in Stanley Park,
and the Professional Firefighters Burn Fund.
Our team was onsite to coordinate and manage volunteers as well as
ensure that the evening runs smoothly.
This was truly a collaborative effort between the Vancouver Parks Board,
the volunteer firefighters, the community as well as the student
volunteers. Every night from
approximately November 27th until January 3rd we ensure that each guest had an
enjoyable experience and that over twenty volunteers were getting the
opportunity to get involved in their community.
As the onsite volunteer coordinator it was our responsibility to ensure
the evenings ran smoothly while generating much needed money for the Burn Fund. To see photos from this event, click here
Appreciation Events by The Finer Details
Boughton Law Corporation Annual Client Appreciation Event Each
year, Boughton Law Corporation likes to show their appreciation to
their ongoing clients. In 2007, they hosted a Vegas-themed Casino
Party with prizes donated by their clients going to the winners. The
theme was carried through all aspects of the event from invitations to
floral design and even had Vegas show girls mingling with the punters.
It was a huge hit, enjoyed by 200 clients and Boughton staff. To see photos from this event, click here.
Homeworks Annual Staff Holiday Party To
show their appreciation for the hard work committed by their staff
throughout the year, Homeworks hosts a Holiday Party that is celebrated
by all. By using The Finer Details' services, all staff were able to
relax and enjoy the event rather that having staff members coordinate
it and still be 'on the job' throughout the celebration. We were also
able to provide creative ideas to get the staff interacting, like the
Gingerbread House Making Competition that kicked off the eventing. To see photos from this event, click here.
Fundraisers by The Finer Details
Walmart Walk for Miracles In June 2010 & 2011, The Finer Details was sub-contracted
by Walmart Canada to produce the
local “Walmart Walk for Miracles”, a fundraising initiative involving 12 local
retail outlets and over 400 staff.
Deborah & her team have worked for the last two years with a local
and national planning committee to ensure the event went off in an organized
fashion with great results for both the guests and the charity, BC Children’s
Hospital Foundation. There were many
logistical items including working with the Vancouver Park Board, various
entertainers and staging specialists as well as coordinating a schedule that
worked for Walmart employees traveling from the entire region. To see photos from his event, click here.
Spring Fundraiser, Vancouver Waldorf School In spring 2011 our team worked with the Vancouver
Waldorf School for their first fundraising soiree in 4 years. This was an opportunity to set new
expectations and to raise the standards for fundraising efforts for this
non-profit school that is grounded in the Arts.
We coordinated with their advisory committee to solicit in-kind
donations and to create a visually interesting event based on the works of
William Shakespeare. By using the unique
Studio 700 at the CBC Vancouver, live actors, a professional MC and a live
prodigy violinist we created an atmosphere for a successful event. To see photos of this event, click here.
Art For Life, Friends for Life Society In 2009 & 2010, The Finer Details has coordinated
Art for Life for the Friends for
Life Society. This annual fundraiser
brought over 600 guests to a fine art live and silent auction. A multi-dimensional event with raffle and
auctions, art curation, food and entertainment required a very detailed
approach to project management. The
events team scripted the MC, provided guidance to the technical grew to ensure
the AV met the needs of the fine art selection committee as well as provided a
group of team leaders to lead the over 80 volunteers. To see photos from this event,

Langley Community Services Society Fundraising Grand Prix Since 2008 The Finer Details has been managing this special fundraiser in Langley. An evening of horse jumping, dinner and fundraising slient auction is a winning combination for this community based non-profit organization. Our team works with their management team to ensure all of the logistics are arranged and the event is executed with our special "finer details" touch. To see photos from this event, click here.
Celebrations by The Finer Details
Medallion Club Awards, Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver (REBGV) REBGV hosted its annual Medallion Club Awards
night for over 800 people in March 2010 & February 2011.
The Finer Details Event Planning and Tantalus Productions collaborate to provide a polished production for the entire evening, from
theme development to stage design to hiring entertainment. This project involves consultation with a
task force dedicated to ensuring excellence at the event. Deborah and Matt are working with this group
to ensure a professionally executed event. The 2011 event won a BC Event Award in November 2011. To see photos from this event click here
'Master of Networking' Awards Gala, Business Network International The
Master of Networking title is awarded to the chapter member who has
given the most to their chapter, in line with the 'Givers' Gain'
philosophy of BNI. The top three nominees - as voted for by chapter
members - are recognized, with the winners announced at their annual
Gala dinner/dance celebration open to 400 members in 20 chapters from
across the Lower Mainland. The 2008 theme was the 'Walk of Fame',
where not only were the current year's winners recognized, but winners
from the last 5 years were honoured in a Walk of Fame. To see photos from this event, click here.
Grand Openings & Launches by The Finer Details
90th Birthday &Grand Opening Trev
Deely Motorcycles is an institution in BC’s Lower Mainland, and
in 2007 celebrated ninety years in business.
The Finer Details was on hand to manage the Grand Opening of the Deeley
Motorcycles Exhibit and new showroom on Boundary Road. The extensive logistics of this event
involved managing an onsite team of twenty, over fifty sponsors and contributors,
a live broadcast of the “Red Robinson” radio show, and well over 2,500 guests
during a six hour period. Through
thoughtful sourcing, planning, and coordination of all onsite logistics, the
event was a tremendous success. To see photos from this event, click here.
Product Launch, Toyota Canada In March 2008 Toyota Canada’s Pacific Regional
Office needed to host a product launch in three BC cities
simultaneously. Because of our networks
and connections, The Finer Details was able to execute three events in Kelowna,
Victoria and Richmond. We were responsible for sub-contracting of venue, food,
audio-visual and signage requirements for all three sites. Our team members were on site in each
location to ensure the event plan was executed professionally. Although this project was managed from our
office, we were able to work with satellite locations and staff to work through
all of the logistics.
YMCA Nanook Childcare Centre Ground Breaking The
YMCA Nanook Childcare Centre was created as a temporary structure to
provide day care for children in East Vancouver in 1979. It was always
intended to be a short-term solution, but almost 30 years later, the
children were still housed in this portable building. The late Bob
Ackles took up the cause and through his business connections was able
to generate over $2 million to upgrade the facilities and create a new,
permanent structure. The Ground Breaking Ceremony took place on a
cold, rainy December morning in 2007, but this didn't dampen the
spirits of the specially invited guests, media and 20 children from the
Centre - dressed in hard hats - who 'turned the sod' with Mayor Sam
Sullivan. The Finer Details ensured that all scenarios were considered
in the preparation for this event and the guests were warm, dry and
enjoying the hot apple ciders sharing in the happiness of the
occasion. To see photos from this event, click here. P&O Ports Grand Opening In
September 2006, The Finer Details managed an important Ribbon Cutting ceremony
for one hundred and 150 key attendees at P&O Ports Centrum Terminal.
In attendance were the company owner from Dubai, the Minister of
Transportation Kevin Falcon, staff, stakeholders and a number of media. This event was organized in a six week time
period, and all of the logistics were managed with ease. The Finer Details team met various challenges
of hosting an event on an active container ship dock and brought in portable
bathrooms, power, a public address system, catering and a tent for inclement
weather. Through proper media relations,
and an outstanding event, P&O Ports Centrum Terminal Opening was
highlighted on the front page of The
Province, and BCTV, Global & Omni
Television.
